Adam K. Oliver founded Tallwood Legal, LLC in 2005 and currently holds the position of Managing Director. Adam specializes in the placement of associates and partners at top-tier regional, national and international law firms. He also works closely with in-house legal departments to place attorneys in roles ranging from contract to general counsel positions.

Prior to launching Tallwood Legal, Adam worked as a corporate and securities lawyer with Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP in Boston, and also spent time with Gunderson Dettmer LLP and DLA Piper US LLP. Adam’s practice focused on M&A transactions, public and private securities work, and venture capital and private equity transactions and financings.

Mr. Oliver holds his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law and his B.A. in Environmental Science from Connecticut College, where he was a member of the varsity basketball team. He also spent a year playing basketball in Norway for the club team Baerums Verk IF.

Kim is a Director of Legal Recruiting at Tallwood. Kim oversees Tallwood’s recruiting efforts in the New York Tri-State area, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Texas and the placement of associates at all levels of experience in top-tier regional, national and international law firms as well as in-house legal departments.

Prior to joining Tallwood, Kim was a Litigation Supervisor, Business and Human Resource Manager at a premier boutique litigation and bankruptcy law firm. As litigation supervisor, Kim advised senior executives and representatives of local and multi-national companies on complex matters and litigation strategy. As business and human resource manager she was intricately involved in the strategic planning and full life-cycle recruiting efforts of the firm.

Kim received her J.D. from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in 1992 where she was a member of the Mock Trial Team. She received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1989 where she was a member of the Student Government. Kim enjoys politics and public policy and currently serves on the Advocacy Leadership Committee for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Katie Miller joined Tallwood Legal in 2016 as a Director of Legal Recruiting. Katie oversees Tallwood's recruiting efforts for the Southeast region, including the District of Columbia, specializing in the placement of associates with all levels of experience at top-tier regional, national, and international law firms, as well as in-house legal departments.

Prior to joining Tallwood, Katie practiced domestic litigation at a boutique law firm in Charleston, South Carolina. She represented clients in all phases of litigation including developing legal strategies, engaging in complex discovery, negotiating settlements and making court appearances. Katie is also a certified mediator.

Katie received her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina, where she graduated cum laude. Katie lives in Charleston with her husband and enjoys cooking, being active, and spending time with family and friends.

George W. O'Connell is a Director of Legal Recruiting at Tallwood Legal. George specializes in the placement of attorneys at top tier regional, national, and international law firms, as well as in-house counsel positions.

Prior to joining Tallwood Legal, George was a lawyer in both the private and public sectors. Upon graduating from law school, George worked for three and a half years as an associate at the New York office of Shearman & Sterling LLP. His practice centered on antitrust law, particularly with respect to advising clients on transactions reviewed by domestic and international competition authorities. Following a clerkship at the Connecticut Supreme Court, George also spent over nine years as an Assistant Attorney General in Connecticut. In this role, he represented the State in antitrust investigations and successfully litigated in state and federal court against some of the largest law firms in the country.

George received his J.D. with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2001 and his B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University in 1997. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, running, and traveling.
